The Chosen By Chaim PotokThe novel The Chosen is a story of twain Jewish boys who sustain friends and go through lots of hard times together. The book starts kayoed at a base roll game, peerless boy on one team and one boy on the other team. The game chop-chop turns more into a war rather than a game. Reuven was pitching when Danny came up to bat, Reuven threw the ball and Danny hit the ball straight back at him. The ball hit Reuven in the eye, shattered his glasses, and got a piece of glass in his eye. Reuven was look atn to the hospital where doctors fixed his eye and he stayed there for fiver days. During those five days, Danny came to visit Reuven and told him he was sorry. Reuven accepted his apology and they began to talk nearly different things. They became friends and kept seeing each other after Reuven got come on of the hospital. unmatchable day Reuven went over to Dannys house to meet his father. Dannys father was a rabbi and raised his son by means of silence . They neer talked except when they studied the Torah together. Reuvenss father was a Zionist and Dannys father was an anti-Zionist so neither was fond of the other but allowed Danny and Reuven to tacit be friends. Because Dannys father was a rabbi, it was Dannys inherited quality to also one day become a rabbi and take his fathers place. Danny, how ever, wanted to be a psychologist not a rabbi. Reuven did not have to be a rabbi but wanted to be one. One day when they where both in college Reuvens father went to a hinge upon and made a speech that Dannys father did not like, and so forbid Danny to talk to Reuven ever again. This time of silence went on for two years until Dannys father let him talk to Reuven again. Danny by in a flash had made up his mind that he was not going to take his fathers place and knew he would have to tell him soon. A year later, Dannys father asked Reuven to come over on the low gear day of the Passover. So Reuven went to Dannys house thinking they were going to conceive the Talmud together. Instead, when Reuven got there, Dannys father closed the book and began to talk to the both of them.
