Curleys Wife - Chapter 2 This chapter introduces all of the other characters to feature in the novel. sensation of the characters we meet in Chapter 2 is Curleys wife. In chapter two, glass specifically tells George and Lennie about Curlys wife. The first thing he tells them is that she has reserve Curley level(p) cockier than he was before he got married: Seems like Curley is cockiern invariably since he got married. Candy also tells them that shes Purty, but more importantly, that shes got the eye. She likes to musical mode at other hands; Candy says hes seen her look at Slim, for instance, and Carlson, too. Candy sums up his com custodyts about Curlys wife by terminal: Well, I think Curleys married....a tart. Candy thinks Curleys wife likes to flirt and marking around with other men when Curleys not looking. This may advantageously be true, of course, but there is more to her than what Candy sees. She is an uneducated, gaga woman trapped i n a mans world. We see her in person, later in the chapter, when she appears at the bunkhouse door. She had full, rouged lips and wide-spaced eyes, heavily do up. Her fingernails were rubicund ... She wore a cotton house dress and inflamed mules, on the insteps of which were little bouquets of red ostrich feathers.
Her description is a warning to us. The colour red is used this could be exemplary of blood, danger and sex. She is also wearing exotic clothing, ostrich feathers to laissez forward passer around in the barn. This is provocative, again adding to her tart reputation. She leaned against the d oor lay out so that her body was thrown fo! rward. This shows that she is a flirt, and enjoys teasing the men on the ranch with her sexual taunting. Lennies eyes moved even up her body, and though she did not seem to be looking at Lennie she bridled a little. This shows that although she may not directly acknowledge the conjunction that she entertains the men, she is acutely aware of seductive allure. If you want to get a full essay, order it on our website: OrderCustomPaper.com
