Charles Dickens was born in Porsmouth England on February 7th 1812(Wilson XIV). He was the second son of eight children born to John and Elizabeth Dickens. They travel around several times. John and Elizabeth were married in 1809. In 1824 his father John was beat in Marsalsea debtors prison for his inability to pay his debts. When John was released from prison, he went to drub for the Navy pay office from which he retired (bloom).
